Lot Descriptions
Standard (S)
A standard lot is one that is flat and has little change in elevation, if any. The basement of a standard lot can have windows, but the size of that window depends on the window well that is created to contain it. The larger the window well, the larger the window and the more daylight you can let in. There is no door to the outside in a basement on a standard lot.

Daylight (DL)
A daylight lot is a lot that has less fall than a walkout, but the curb level elevation is still higher than the back of the lot. There is not a separate entrance or exit with a door to the basement, unless there is a patio area outside that door that has steps leading back up to a slightly higher elevation. The windows in a daylight basement can be larger and can be considered an ingress/egress themselves. Hence, the basement can easily be finished and included in the finished square feet calculation of the home.

Walk-Out (WO)
A walkout lot is a lot that has the proper amount of fall to create a basement that has its own entrance/exit. It can also accommodate larger windows to let in more light. The lot is higher at the curb level than at the back of the property. Many of the walkout lots in Northwood back up to trees, creeks, or golf course fairways creating spectacular views.
